Throughout the year, the Kempsey Kat Klub hold meetings once a month and all our members are invited to attend.  Meetings will be held at 2.00pm on the first Saturday of the month or - if a show is on that day - meetings will be on the second Saturday of the month.  Please contact the Klub's President or Secretary for more information.

At these meetings we discuss our show and all the preparation which is involved - for one day's work, there is one year's preparation which is very involved!  We are now currently involved in organising our 2006 show and are in the process of inviting our judges for next year's event.  We also like to make our meetings a friendly and happy experience - especially for those who are new members and also new to the Australian Cat Fancy - as we also like to help people out with any feline questions that we (hopefully) can answer ... all medical questions are, naturally, replied with "please go to your veterinarian!"

At the end of October each year, we hold our Annual General Meeting, at which the officers for the following year are elected.  We also have a social barbeque, which is held at South West Rocks, a holiday/resort town about 40kms north-east of Kempsey.  It is a beachside town, very pretty, and everyone who attends always has a very nice day out.  Below are some photos from our 2003 Barbeque ... it was a lovely day out for all who attended and the weather was very kind to us.  :)  Unfortunately I didn't get any photos from our 2004 Barbeque/AGM ... however, it was a lovely day out and everyone enjoyed themselves immensely.

Our ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING was held at South West Rocks on 12 November, 2005 ..... we had our BBQ first (must get our priorities right!) and then our AGM.  Mrs Sarah Sypher won the Xmas Hamper full of goodies (1st prize) and Mrs Julie Fitzhenry won a lovely bottle of wine (2nd prize) .. congratulations to both of you and we hope you have a very Merry Christmas with your prizes.  ;)  Thank you to all who supported the Klub by buying tickets in our Christmas Raffle .... your support is always appreciated.

Now we come to the serious part of the day - the voting for our 2005 Executive for Kempsey Kat Klub.  Listed are those members who were voted in to run the Kempsey Kat Klub's affairs for the next year ..... congratulations on your election.

KEMPSEY KAT KLUB - SECRETARY'S REPORT - 2004

"Thank you for attending our AGM for 2005 and I would like to take this opportunity once again to report on the past year for Kempsey Kat Klub.

Our show was successful once more and we have ended the year in front - especially financially!  I would like to welcome all our new members to the club who have joined this year and we hope that you will continue to enjoy your membership with Kempsey Kat Klub.

About our website, which was done by myself as a hobby (I quite enjoy doing these kind of things) - I will update this site throughout the year with information about the club/show and if anyone wishes to advertise their available kittens on the "Our Members" page, please contact me so that I can put a notice under catteries listed.  This is a free service to all financial club members only.

Our show was held on Saturday, 20 August, 2005 at the Kempsey Showground.  This was our 15th show and the second at the showground ... I admit that I was apprehensive last year about moving venues, but it all worked out very well - especially with all the public who attended!  We also were lucky to have some good publicity through the local paper this year and we also put out flyers for the show around the Valley - all of which helped to advertise our show locally.

To all those exhibitors who did well, a hearty congratulations, and to all the exhibitors who attended our show - we thank you for joining us.  Our innovative "O Gene Class" is now on a permanent basis and once again it was successful for the club, both in entries and financially.  This was an idea put forward by Lyn Thwaites a couple of years ago and it has turned out brilliantly - thank you, Lyn.

I would like to thank all who have helped us during 2005, both at the show and beforehand - with anything and everything that needed to be done - and I hope we can all work towards another great show in 2006 (it is coming up soon).  Running a show is a huge job and I realise that only one or two people, even behind the scenes, cannot do all this work by themselves, so I wish to acknowledge everyone (even those who aren't in attendance at the AGM) for all their help during the year.  I hope that this co-operation can continue in the years ahead.

We have invited our judges for 2006; we have sent invitations out to stewards, card writers and other show workers, before the Christmas/New Year break.  Thank you to all those people for accepting their assignments.  In closing, I would like to wish Kempsey Kat Klub all the best for the future and hope that 2006 will be bigger, brighter and better than ever."

NORTHERN NSW CAT CLUB'S ANNUAL AWARDS

Kempsey Kat Klub, in conjunction with the other Northern NSW cat clubs in the area, is involved in the Northern NSW Cat Club's annual Northern NSW Cat of the Year Awards .... which covers the areas bounded by Taree in the south, Tamworth in the west and Tweed Heads in the north.  The clubs involved are Coffs Harbour Agricultural Society Inc, Holiday Coast Cat Club Inc, Kempsey Kat Klub, Tamworth & District Cat Club Inc, Northern Rivers Cat Club Inc and, in 2004, the new cat show which is incorporated into the Taree Show Society (their first show will be 9 October, 2004).

At this function, Top 3 awards for each breed , Breeder of the Year, Prefix of the Year and Exhibitor of the Year is acknowledged, with trophies and lovely sashes being handed out to the lucky winners.  Good luck to all who will be participating in the Northern NSW Cat of the Year Awards.

We also hold our Combined Club's Christmas Party .. last year everyone gathered at the Anchors Away restaurant once again, which is situated right on the banks of the Kalang River at Urunga, NSW.  We had a lovely time and I won the raffle - again!  Lots of Xmas goodies and something for the felines as well ... thank you, Holiday Coast Cat Club Inc.  :)

Here's a photo of some of the guests in 2004 (no names mentioned, folks, he he) enjoying themselves and partying heartily at the restaurant ... thanks again, John, for permission to use this photo.  It was an excellent day out and we are once again looking forward to heading to Urunga at the end of the year to enjoy a fun day out with likeminded folks.
