The Space is Public:
Views of Launceston's Contemporary Public Art
7 October - 4 November 2005 |
“The Space
is Public exhibition is a photographic essay that offers alternative
views of works of public art in outside public spaces that those walking
by would not normally see. Each individual’s view of the world
is coloured by their perceptions, and we seek to illustrate this idea
by using two photographs of each work, and by each of us taking one
of the two shots. In addition, we hope to raise community awareness
of the art that is present in our daily environment. This includes
exposing works hidden away in corporate or educational institutions
and possibly never seen by the general public.” The Exhibition
