I am writing this letter about an accident involving two vehicles that occurred on Saturday, January 31 2004 at the Ribbes Access and Dungay Creek Road intersection at Yessabah.
The main factor that contributed to the accident was that trees are growing along the edge of Dungay Creek Road and blocking the view of all motorists at the intersection. These trees are on Council land, so the Council must take some responsibility for the accident.
This intersection is a 100km speed limit and is also a school bus stop. Although no one was injured in the Accident it will not be too long before there is an accident with the school bus and I wounder how many children will be hurt. The local Council should seriously look at reducing the speed limit to 60km.
But we all know Council won't
do anything about the black spots on our roads until someone is killed
or seriously injured.
